When famed online retailer One Kings Lane decided to turn their seasonal Southampton pop-up into their first-ever bricks and mortar shop, they chose a Main Street century home, formerly a pharmacy in 1901, for their permanent destination. OKL's focus on history, architecture, and connection to the local community drove the inspiration behind the design of the seaside town retail shopping experience.
Christine Flynn Art was commissioned to create a series of custom surfboards for the OKL Southampton store. Each surfboard design is a limited edition of 3, concepted with Flynn's photography and graphic elements, and reimagined using the surfboard as the medium. The designs were then shaped and glassed in California and the result is ready-to-hang artwork that also happens to be a functional surfboard.
The surfboard collection has been shown at the NYC Affordable Art Fair and is now available at the One Kings Lane's Southampton store, their flagship in Soho, and at the newest location in the Fort Point neighbourhood of Boston.
