Our Story

Founded in 2011, Love the Design is one of Toronto’s most recognized destinations for home décor, accessories, gifts, and vintage finds, all in the signature rough luxe style of owner, artist, and designer, Christine Flynn. From one-of-a-kind furniture pieces to contemporary art, Christine curates the ever-changing space with an expert eye, so that every visit brings the chance to discover something new.

Christine Flynn is an accomplished artist and designer, whose signature aesthetic combines vintage pieces with a storied past, with contemporary design and a modern edge. Christine’s natural talent for design was evident at a young age. After completing her Fine Arts Degree at Houghton College in New York, Christine forged a 10-year career as a graphic designer, working for some of Toronto’s most acclaimed boutique agencies. In 2008 Christine left the agency world to pursue her creative passions, and soon after, opened Love the Design.

Now, in her role as creative director, curator, and artist for LTD, Christine is able to integrate her passion for art, design, and home décor. Christine is regularly featured in publications such as Chatelaine, House & Home, The Globe and Mail, and Toronto Life, just to name a few. In addition, Love the Design is a favourite source for unique finds for the city’s most sought-after designers and editors, and pieces from the store can be found in many of Toronto’s most beautiful homes.
